It allows cameras together with light sources to be precisely aligned and moved horizontally in two axes by motor, optionally even with software-controlled positioning for greater accuracy and reproducibility. In addition, vertical adjustment of the camera is possible via a motorized telescope.

The Bacht camera positioning system also facilitates the production of extremely high-resolution digital images using stitching. These systems, which are individually matched to the respective requirements and premises, are used worldwide in archives, institutes, and museums, often in combination with additional Bacht lights.
